Athletes from Bernardino B. Bosque National High School (BBBNHS) earned spots in the Davao City Athletic Association (DCAA) Meet 2026 after a strong showing at the Davao City Division Unit II Sports Meet.
The school won the 5v5 Basketball Secondary Boys championship and secured qualifiers in taekwondo, arnis, Paragames track and field, and swimming.
The BBBNHS Bucks took the basketball title, emerging as Unit II champions.
In taekwondo, the school won gold medals in the Poomsae Boys Team, Poomsae Mixed Pair and Kyorugi Under 68 kg. Silver medals went to Steven Luy, Melvin Galacio and Mattjan Quiñones, while Marlyn Sigua and the Poomsae Girls Team won bronze.
The BBBNHS Arnis team added one gold and five bronze medals. AJ T. Valmorida secured the gold in Combative and also won bronze in Solo Baston Anyo and Synchronized Solo Baston.
Marlavel Maglantay, Jireh Fano and Jhon Revyn Morales also won bronze medals in their respective events.
Bosque High’s adaptive athletes also turned in strong performances in the Paragames.
Jessie Ryne Matutud won three gold medals in the 100-meter dash, running long jump and shot put in the VI-Girls category.
Michael Angcla won gold in the ID-Boys running long jump and shot put, while James Ocite earned three silver medals in the 100-meter dash, running long jump and shot put.
In Paragames swimming, Ella Villar qualified for the DCAA Meet after winning the 50-meter breaststroke. She also placed third in the 50-meter freestyle. Hannah Mae Ayuda added two silver medals and one bronze.
In Latin dance, Alex and Princess Emjae won bronze medals in Samba, Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive, as well as the overall Grade A category.
The results give Bosque High athletes a chance to compete against qualifiers from other Davao City division units at the upcoming DCAA Meet.
