PERSONNEL of Opol municipal police station arrested a 58-year-old person for illegal drugs and illegal possession of a firearm which he committed 20 years ago
Police Maj. Michael Lacasan of Opol police station identified the suspect as Edizaldy Lagumbay, married, and a resident of Youngsville Subdivision, Barangay Igpit of the said town.
Lacasan’s team together with personnel assigned at the Provincial Intelligence Unit, led by Police Col. Adolfo Mercado, arrested the suspect yesterday at 6:30 pm at the suspect’s residence.
The arresting authorities were armed with an arrest warrant dated November 21, 2002, and April 29 of the same year for illegal possession of drugs and illegal possession of a firearm.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Albert Abragan of the Regional Trial Court 10, Branch 3 and 4, in Iligan City.
For the two cases, Abragan recommended the suspect with a P140,000 bail bond.
Lagumbay is now detained at Opol police station mini-cell for proper disposition.
