BUKIDNON police arrested five suspects in connection with grave coercion cases in separate operations Tuesday morning.
Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, the province’s regional director, identified the suspects as Anita Solinap, 62, married, housewife; Jerson Solinap, 41, laborer; and Julius Oliverio, 36, single, laborer, all residents of Purok 4, Sitio Basag, Barangay San Carlos, Valencia City of the said province.
Also arrested were Julito Camingaawan Cortes, 37, married, a tractor operator; and Ella Kim Morales, 30, married and both residents of the same place.
Oliverio and the Sulinap couple Anita and Jerson were arrested by personnel assigned at the 1st Bukidnon Police Mobile Force Company led by Police Lt. Reyman Pontillas, together with Valencia City police, Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit, and 2nd Bukidnon Police Mobile Force Company. They were arrested while at their residences.
While Cortes and Morales were arrested at Purok 5, and Purok 4, Poblacion of the said city, respectively.
The suspects are now temporarily detained at Valencia mini-cell for proper disposition.
According to Philippine law, a grave coercion case is committed by any person who, without the authority of law, shall, by means of violence, prevent another from doing something not prohibited by law, or compel him to do something against his will whether it be right or wrong.
