FOR spreading sexually explicit photos of his estranged wife, a Danish citizen was arrested by authorities in an entrapment operation today.
Police Staff Sgt. Idy Ann Flor Zarate, Regional Ant-Crime Unit-10 officer-in-charge, told reporters, the suspect was arrested outside a call center building located at the Uptown area at 1 am, Thursday.
Zarate refused to identify the suspect pending further investigation.
The incident stemmed from the complaint of the suspect’s estranged wife.
Zarate said the wife went to their office and lodged a complaint against her Danish husband for uploading her nude photos and sent it to their common friends via the social media.
The wife said she and the suspect had separated for quite sometime for maltreating her.
Since then the latter did not stop in winning her back.
“Di naman gyud gusto sa asawa nga magpatigbalik gihulga dayon siya sa iyang bana nga ipakatag niya ang iyang mga nude photos,” Zarate said
Zarate said one of their female common friends had received several photos from the suspect and a video showing the suspect masturbating.
Zarate said the estranged wife will also file a case against the Danish citizen for violating Republic Act 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act. This law penalizes gender-based sexual harassment committed in streets and public places (including online).
It was learned that the couple stayed in Denmark for seven years before settling here in Cagayan de Oro City.
