PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, Misamis Oriental: The provincial government of Misamis Oriental signed three memorandums of agreement (MOA) with various stakeholders in a bid to “reshape the province’s agricultural and economic landscape.”

In a statement, Gov. Peter “ Sr. Pedro” Unabia said that the signing of the memoranda highlights the province’s commitment to progress, sustainable development, and effective governance.

Unabia cited one of the agreements as the “Deed of Donation” with the Northern Mindanao Federation of Dairy Cooperatives (NMFDC-Highland Fresh) El Salvador City Proponent Group to bolster the dairy industry and fostering economic growth for local farmers.

“The agreement with the NMFDC focuses on the “Dairy Milk Processing and Marketing Enterprise,” Unabia said.

Aside from the NMDFC, the provincial executive also inked two other separate MOAs with stakeholders of the "Palm Oil Utilization of Renewable Energy and Sustainable Economy, “ and the ”Coconut Sauce Processing and Marketing,” in Misamis Oriental.”

Unabia said that the renewable energy would revolutionize the energy production and sustainable practices, contributing to a more resilient and self-sustaining economy.

He said that the potential of the local coconut industry would also create economic opportunities and ignites agricultural growth.

The MOA initiative outlined Unabia’s “PAGLAUM development agenda,” underscoring the letters “P” for participatory governance, demonstrating the province’s dedication to progress and the well-being of its residents, John Venice Ladaga, provincial administrator said.

According to Ladaga, the MOA signing took place during the flag raising ceremony (Sept. 4, 2023) reaffirming Gov. Unabia's dedication to agricultural and economic development, vis-a-vis  effective  governance.

He said that Unabia is confident  that the MOAs would stand as pillars of growth, underscoring the province's determination to shape a better and more sustainable Misamis Oriental alongside with Northern Mindanao's progress. 

Unabia also expressed gratitude to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for the support in the implementation of the various programs of the provincial administration. 

The governor  exhorted the importance of providing compassionate and responsive services to the people.

Unabia also commended the heads of provincial departments for their dedication, especially in the alignment the programs with the PAGLAUM strategic agenda. advt
