ONE dead and three people were injured after a truck delivering hogs, bearing plate YBZ 609, collided head-on with a log hauler truck, bearing plate KAF 1911, along the national highway in Purok 3, Barracks, Barangay Punong in Gingoog City at 7:45 pm, Tuesday.
Police Lt.Col Cecelio Q. Orcullo revealed on Wednesday, that a certain ‘Dodo’ Pagumpana, a logs hauler truck helper of Barangay Malinao, Gingoog City was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Renz Mejares of Misamis Oriental Provincial Hospital.
Marlon Pajo, head of Gingoog City Disaster Risk and Rescue Management Office, said the driver of the logs hauler truck, Romulo B. Dayadaya, 37, married, and also of Barangay Malinao was brought to a private hospital in the city.

The driver of the hog delivery truck, Christopher Jimenez, single, resident of Barangay Obrero in Butuan City, and his helper were brought to Cagayan de Oro City for treatment.
Police Cpl. Renand Jay Larena, the investigator on the case, said both vehicles were traveling in the opposite direction where the logs hauler truck was bound for Cagayan de Oro, while the hogs delivery truck was going to Butuan City.
Initial investigation showed that the brake of the log hauler truck exploded.
The driver attempted to maneuver the truck but it lost control and encroached in the direction of the hog delivery truck which resulted in a head-on collision.
