CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy and the city’s 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez launched a new political alliance, “One Kagay an: Kauban Ang Katawhan,” at a gathering of local leaders and supporters on Saturday.
The event, held at the Aquilino Pimentel Jr. International Convention Center in Barangay Indahag, showcased a united front as the two leaders geared up for the 2025 elections.
Mayor Uy expressed optimism that the alliance would bolster development efforts in the city, emphasizing that teamwork was critical to driving progress.
Rep. Rodriguez echoed the mayor’s sentiments, stressing the importance of collaboration to address the city’s pressing needs.
He said the alliance aimed to amplify the voices of citizens in local governance.
Vice Mayor Jocelyn 'Bebot' Rodriguez also lent her support, advocating for unity among local officials as key to effective governance.
Barangay Carmen Chairman Raineir Joaquin 'Kikang' Uy represented the grassroots sector, underscoring the need for cooperation to spur real change in communities.
The launch drew a large crowd, with many residents hopeful that the new partnership would improve infrastructure and public services.
A joint slate of candidates for the 2025 elections was introduced, pledging commitment to serve with integrity.
“The future looks promising with this alliance,” said one participant, who asked not to be identified.
