IN a recent initiative by the City Mayor's Office, Sheila Lumbatan, the Chief of Staff and concurrent Gender and Development Office (GAD) co-chair, distributed additional livelihood assistance to the five SK Chairpersons of the city.
This assistance aims to support the small livelihood programs that the SK Chairpersons are implementing for the benefit of their constituents.
The funds for this initiative were sourced from the GAD, which continues to prioritize projects and programs that empower women and promote gender equality.
Lumbatan, recognizing the importance of empowering the youth, personally turned over the funds to the SK Chairpersons.
The following SK Chairpersons received P20,000 each as part of this livelihood assistance program: Arianne Fernandez from Brgy San Simon, Rollie Bangcoyo from Brgy Mambuaya, John Floyd Labiano from Brgy Indahag, Mary Grace Gaabon from Brgy Tuburan, and Mike Clint Santaan from Brgy Tignapoloan.
Lumbatan expressed her optimism and hope that these funds will contribute to the success and growth of the planned projects in each barangay.
She emphasized the importance of supporting the initiatives of the SK Chairpersons, as these programs directly impact the lives of the city's constituents.
By providing financial assistance, the City Mayor's Office aims to encourage the development of sustainable livelihood programs and empower the youth to take an active role in their communities.
It is expected that these initiatives will generate long-term benefits for both the SK Chairpersons and their respective barangays.
"This initiative signifies the commitment of the City Mayor's Office to prioritize the welfare of the youth and ensure their active participation in community development," said Lumbatan.
She added that through financial support and guidance, the city aims to foster an environment where the projects of the SK Chairpersons can flourish and positively impact the lives of the youth they serve.
