CAGAYAN de Oro City — Young robotics enthusiasts from across Mindanao will converge here in October as Koronadal hosts its first Mindanao-wide invitational robotics competition.

The 1st Mayor Elienda P. Araquel Mindanao-Wide Invitational Robotics Competition will be held at Gaisano Grand Mall Koronadal on Oct. 3 and 4, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The two-day event is part of the city’s 26th Charter Anniversary and Negosyo Festival (NecoFest 2026) and is being organized with AlphaCore Information Technology Solutions and the Rotary Club of Metro Koronadal.

Students and young builders will compete in four categories: Line Tracing, Soccerbot, Battlebot, and 1kg Auto/3kg RC Sumobot.

The competition will give participants a chance to test their custom-built machines while showcasing their skills in robotics, engineering and technology.

Mayor Araquel invited teams from across Mindanao to join the event and help encourage greater interest in technology among young people.

“Koronadal City welcomes innovators, builders, and robotics enthusiasts from across Mindanao to create, compete, and make history,” Araquel said.

Interested teams may register or request the competition guidelines through event coordinator Ferdinand Lopez II or the official City Government of Koronadal channels.
