A 23-year-old prisoner is now the subject of a manhunt operation after he successfully made a daring escape from the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail (MOPJ) at 3 pm yesterday.
Jail warden Robert Roy Bahian identified the escapee as Jason Imansolay, a native of Mat-i, Claveria town of the said province.
Imansolay became a Person Deprived of Liberty after he was charged with carnapping a few years back.
“Nahibaw-an nga nakalayas ang maong piniriso sa dihang nagsugod nag ihap ang mga na assign nga mga jailguard. Natingala sila nga kulang nag usa. Mao tong gitan-aw nila kung asa miagi,” Bahian said
He said the guards had discovered a portion of interlink wires located at the back of the said jail building already destroyed. They theorized it was used by the suspect as his exit point
Bahian said he already created a tracker team that will trace the whereabouts of the suspect. He also ordered a manhunt operation for the latter’s immediate recapture.
He said he will also conduct an investigation to the assigned jail guards at the time the said prisoner escaped.
“Manubag gyud sila ani nganong nakahigayon og eskapo ang maong piniriso. Sa pagahimoon nga imbistigasyon mahibaw-an na tanan,” Bahian said.
Bahian however, made a statement convincing Imansolay to just surrender to the authority. He said he is willing to help him.
It can be recalled that there were already plans in the past by the provincial government to transfer the said jail facility somewhere in the municipality of Gitagum but until it was not realized.
