MISAMIS Oriental has launched a mobile diagnostic clinic as part of its Single Digit Poverty Incidence (SDPI) program, a key initiative led by Governor Peter Unabia aimed at reducing poverty in the province.
The clinic, considered a “cornerstone” of the program, was confirmed by Provincial Administrator John Venice Ladaga, who highlighted its crucial role in improving access to healthcare for underserved communities.
The clinic, a gift from Malacañang Palace through the support of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., provides essential medical services to remote areas, addressing barriers to healthcare access, according to Talisayan Vice Mayor and Provincial Health Consultant Rommel Maslog.
He pointed out that health is a fundamental component of the SDPI program, alongside education, livelihood, and standard of living.
Reports from the Regional Development Council (RDC) show a 16.2% decrease in poverty incidence in the province, with officials optimistic that the mobile clinic will accelerate further progress.
The clinic is set to rotate throughout Misamis Oriental, bringing critical healthcare services to those in need and contributing to the broader poverty reduction goals.
