NOW that Election 2025 is so over, it’s time to ponder on why I voted for a particular candidate, why I didn’t vote for the other, what were the qualifications I was looking for in a political candidate.

Some losing candidates have continued posting reels and photos on Facebook. Content, er, life goes on. Sustaining their relevance is a must if they want to try again in 2028.

It takes more than three years, though, to prepare for the elections. That’s when the kamang starts. This kind of kamang may also require money much like the kamang for ulan-ulan.

Had I included the no-vote-buying qualification, I’d end up voting for the candidate whose answer to at least one question in the “Pag-ila 2025” series of candidates’ fora was, “Puede pass?” But better that than the candidates who were absent, who ended up winning, anyway, with much thanks to the ulan-ulan. Or perhaps they did dasurv to win with or without the ulan-ulan.

Whether they resorted to vote-buying or not, the most important thing for them is they won. Because if they lost, para que the vote-buying? What a waste of people’s money, er, their solicited funds, er, their own hard-earned money. Uh. Innocent until proven guilty in the vote-buying department.

Wish ko lang Pinas has an Ethan Hunt who can conduct missions should he choose to accept it.

Missions such as taking videos of the actual vote-buying and vote-selling and not merely the people who were allegedly lining up for ulan-ulan.

Missions such as taking videos of politicians who are allegedly receiving commissions from contractors.

Missions such as gathering evidence of illegal businesses.

Those missions will be too easy for Hunt who can stay alive and kicking after jumping off planes, choppers, skyscrapers, etc.

“Mission. Impossible - The Final Reckoning” is the latest installment in the series. It’s filled with action scenes as usual, with Tom Cruise doing his own breathtaking stunts as usual and Hunt making missions always possible. And this is a good movie because it kept me awake.

What else keeps me awake? The Morning Pages which I write in the evening since I have no time to write them upon waking up in the morning.

The Morning Pages is a daily journal that Julia Cameron advised as a cure for writer’s block.

YouTube videos about the carnivore diet also keep me awake. I need the daily reminder because I tend to forget the carbs’ side effects once I see, uh, carbs especially now that Starbucks has opened a branch at SM Northwing. The distance between the gym and that branch is one Tarzan swing. I was there on the day it opened on May 14 and returned twice within that week.

I couldn’t stop carbo-loading once I’ve started. So, there I was on Saturday at Fat Chef to order bilo-bilo. Good thing it wasn’t available.

It’s back to the carnivore diet again since Sunday. In other words, good luck na lang to me.
