A real estate firm looking to build housing units inside the 3,000-hectare Phividec Industrial Estate in Barangay Sta Ana, Tagoloan town, Misamis Oriental showed off its first completed 12-storey condominium Monday, October 14.
The building housing 24, two-bedroom units took only nine days to build, according to RGJ Realty Corporation Chairman Romeo G. Jalosjos.
Jalosjos said the building was built using Chinese Holon technology which utilizes pre-fabricated modular components mostly made of titanium and stainless steel.
Holon technology, Jalosjos said, is the fastest way to erect condominiums with construction integrity.
The first of its kind in the country, the building is tower one of eighteen proposed towers that RGJ hopes to build inside the industrial estate.
The firm had signed a memorandum of agreement with Phividec last April to build a housing project that will cater to informal settler families, Phividec-IA employees, retired Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) veterans, Phividec locators , and other interested individuals.
The construction of the housing units is part of the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, a priority program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr’s administration.
Traditional methods of building construction take years to finish, Jalosjos said, adding the use of Holon technology can be instrumental in achieving the 2.5 million housing target of the Marcos administration because of the speed in which housing units can be put up.
"It is possible to build those 2.5 million na pabahay in the short term," Jalosjos said.mote areas like Mindanao posed challenges, Jalosjos affirmed that they found ways to make it work, ensuring the success of their pioneering project.
