Aguirre, Digos City Bureau Chief DIGOS City — The surprise inspection by the Drug Enforcement Agecy (PDEA) and the police inside the Digos district jail last Friday turned out to be negative of drugs, weapons, and other contrabands, a Bureau of Jail Management and Penology official said. Supt. Noel Guerrero, BJMP Digos district jail warden said PDEA agents, barangay officials of Barangay San Miguel, the local police, and the military swooped the cells of the inmates early morning of March 3 but they found nothing inside that is not allowed under existing laws that could be considered as contraband. Guerrero said ever since he assumed the post as jail warden the BJMP is strictly adhering to the rules and regulations regarding the entry of visitors and guest so that no prohibited drugs, weapons and the like could pass through the security personnel unnoticed. There are eight cells that house 611 male inmates, while there are at least 60 female inmates in a separate cell the same prison compound located along the Sugar Road in Barangay San Miguel, this city.
