FORMER Misamis Oriental 1st District Rep. Isacio A. Pelaez died on October 10, his son, lawyer Vincent Pelaez said.
He said his father succumbed to a heart attack due to complications from pneumonia and died at around 3:30 pm at Capitol University Medical Center in Cagayan de Oro City.
The older Pelaez had been admitted at CUMC since September 25, Vincent added.

“It is with great sadness to inform the friends and relatives of Atty. Isacio A. Pelaez that he died peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones (on) October 10. He was 84 years old,” Vincent said.
Pelaez practiced law from 1962 until his death. He served as a Municipal Trial Circuit Court and Regional Trial Court judge for 16 years. He served as congressman of the 1st district of Misamis Oriental from 1987 to 1992.
He held various positions in different national agencies during the Ramos and Arroyo administrations while serving as a political consultant of the late House Speaker Jose de Venecia, Jr.
His remains lie at their ancestral home in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental. The interment will announced soon.
