PHILHEALTH Northern Mindanao (PhilHealth-10) urged Filipinos not to hesitate in seeking medical consultations, highlighting the availability of free services through its ‘PhilHealth Konsulta’ program.

The initiative offers free consultations to all PhilHealth members, particularly those living below the poverty line.

During a media briefing on September 10 hosted by the Philippine Information Agency, PhilHealth Regional Vice President for Northern Mindanao, Delio Aseron II, emphasized the program’s goal of ensuring that every Filipino has access to free medical check-ups.

“No Filipino should be deprived of a doctor’s consultation, whether in public or private hospitals, simply because they cannot afford it. Through PhilHealth Konsulta, medical services are accessible for free to all PhilHealth members,” Aseron said.

Aseron also announced that Northern Mindanao, including Camiguin, Iligan, and Bukidnon, has now been integrated into the Universal Health Care system, allowing everyone in the region to benefit from PhilHealth programs like Konsulta.

As of September 2024, the Konsulta program has 136 registered facilities across Northern Mindanao, serving over 2.17 million clients. In addition to free check-ups, the program provides maintenance medications for asthma, diabetes, hypertension, and other conditions, as well as laboratory tests recommended by healthcare providers.

Aseron also encouraged more private healthcare providers to join the program, giving patients the option to choose their preferred clinics and hospitals.

He urged Filipinos to register with PhilHealth, along with their dependents, to ensure continued access to healthcare services.
