By NITZ ARANCON Correspondent IT’s all systems go as far as Camp Alagar’s  security preparations for the Holy Week observance in northern Mindanao are concerned. Supt. Surki Sereñas, Camp Alagar spokesperson, said the police started the deployment of officers to all terminals, airports, seaports, malls, resorts, churches, and similar places yesterday, the first working day of the Holy Week on orders of police regional director Chief Supt. Lyndel Desquitado. Sereñas said the preemptive measures would be in place despite the absence of a threat in Region 10, and the security plan would be carried out at checkpoints and barangays with the help of “force multipliers” and volunteers. Camp Alagar said some 1,800 officers would be involved in checkpoint operations alone across the region  throughout the week. Sereñas said Desquitado has also ordered the setting up of police assistance desks in strategic areas especially in places where thousands of religious devotees would gather later this week. Similar assistance centers will also be set up in terminals, airports and seaports by the National Police’s Highway Patrol Group, Aviation Security Group and Maritime Group, said Sereñas.
