FOR possessing an unlicensed firearm, a 20-year-old person was arrested by policemen manning a checkpoint Tuesday this week in Quezon, Bukidnon.
Bukidnon Police Provincial Director Jun Mark Lagare identified the suspect as John Carlo Villamor, single, and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Mibantang.
According to the police report the suspect was about to pass the Commission on Election (Comelec) checkpoint at about 12:20 pm at the National highway of Purok 8 of the said barangay when he was ordered to stop.
Police then conducted a body search on the suspect.
Police noticed a bulging hard object tucked on the suspect's waist and upon further checking they found a caliber .38 revolver with no serial number with 4 live ammunition.
The inventory of the confiscated illegal items was conducted at the scene and was witnessed by Barangay Councilor Romeo Laurito and Barangay Tanod Allan Pontemayor of the mentioned barangay.
The suspect is now under the custody of Quezon police for proper disposition.
