In a significant achievement, five municipalities in the province of Misamis Oriental have been honoured as 2023 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) National Awardees by the Department of Interior Local Government (DILG).
Binuangan, Lagonglong, Laguindingan, Lugait, and Naawan were recognized for their outstanding efforts in implementing effective anti-drug programs, standing out among 16 local government units in Region 10.
Governor Peter "Sr. Pedro" Unabia, a key proponent of the PAGLAUM development agenda driving progress in the province, commended the municipalities. The ADAC Performance Award aligns with the participatory governance principles of the PAGLAUM agenda, emphasizing community involvement in decision-making.
Under Governor Unabia's leadership, these municipalities have successfully empowered communities to combat drug abuse, leading to a decrease in drug-related incidents.
The DILG's recognition underscores the fruitful collaboration between local authorities, law enforcement, and residents, creating a safer and healthier environment.
