The Zonta Club of Cagayan de Oro City 1 (ZCDO!) Rose Day, 8 March, is celebrated along with International Women’s Day as a time to reflect and give tribute to the individuals who have empowered you or the women in your community.
Part of last night’s celebration at Setro 1850 were the awarding of Certificate of Recognition to Zontians in government service.
Merlinda Rebolos ZCDO1 acting president awarded the certificates of recognition to Caroline A. Neri, MPA and Lina Estrella Faburada, CPA in celebration of their leadership, performance, and achievement in government service that assure and inspire more women to take a similar path in pursuit of building a better future for women and girls and their communities.
Rebolos also awarded the length of membership award to Sarah Borja as charter member with her 44 years of committed membership and dedication to Empowering Women through Service and Advocacy.
She also said other awardees were Denvi Cabrera and Rose Violeta Paras with their more than 30 years dedication in the Zontians advocacy.
Likewise, she said Zonta’s annual Rose Day campaign will run the week with the culmination this coming Saturday of its children and girls feeding program at the orphanage House of Joy in Buntong Camaman-an.
Revolos said building a better world for women and girls means coming through the beauty of the Zonta spirit thus she welcomes all like-minded individuals to join the club
