CAGAYAN de Oro City is getting ready for the fifth PAL Inter-Club Golf Tournament. The event will happen from February 19 to March 4 at the Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club. 

The city's officials, including City Administrator Roy Hilario Raagas, had a good meeting with the leaders of Philippine Airlines on January 26 to talk about the event. 

They think the event will be good for the city's economy.

Raagas gave a message for the Mayor of Cagayan de Oro, Rolando 'Klarex' Uy, saying that the two-week golf tournament will help the local economy grow.

He expects more tourists to come and more hotels to get booked, which will help businesses in the city do well.

The golf tournament will have events for both senior and regular golfers, which means many different people can join. 

This should attract even more people and help the city's economy even more.

Sheila Lumbatan, the Chief of Staff from the City Mayor's office, emphasized the significant economic benefits that the tournament is poised to bring to Cagayan de Oro. 

Lumbatan expressed optimism about the positive ripple effects that increased tourist arrivals and heightened hotel bookings will have on the city's overall economic landscape.

"The tournament could bring a lot of money to Cagayan de Oro," said Lumbatan adding she thinks that more tourists and full hotels will make the city's economy stronger.

The city working with Philippine Airlines shows that they want to use sports to help the city's economy grow. 

Lumbatan added that by making the most of golf's popularity and working with big groups like Philippine Airlines, the city hopes to become a popular place for sports and make more money from it.

As anticipation builds for the PAL Inter-Club Golf Tournament, the city is gearing up to showcase its hospitality and extend a warm welcome to participants and visitors. 

As the golf tournament gets closer, Lumbatan said the city is getting ready to be a good host to the players and guests. 

"Cagayan de Oro wants to use this chance to help its economy and the community," Lumbatan said.
