Netnet Camomot“BATO-BATO sa langit, ang tamaan huwag magalit.” This could be the mantra of Philippine National Police Chief Bato dela Rosa.
There are videos where he's talking with Bilibid's self-proclaimed bigwigs whose happy days must be over now that Special Action Force (SAF) commandos are the multi-hectare prison's security guys.
There are documentaries and videos starring those bigwigs, on how they're lording it over the Bilibid--life goes on for them, and business is still good. But all these could be in the past tense now with the new prez at the helm and Dela Rosa by his side.
As for SAF, remember Mamasapano? But that's another story.
Change is definitely here. How many times do we have to say that?
Even the illegal street vendors occupying Manila's Divisoria have been banished to... hmmm... Siberia? Yeah, at least Siberia lang. Unlike some shabu users and pushers who have been banished to infinity and beyond, never to be seen again.
The news nowadays is filled with banishments, the Pinoy has to wonder if it will reach the point of people not caring anymore about banishments.
I asked this before, about what would happen to the surrenderees once they go back to using and/or selling shabu. Because it's expected: they're addicted to shabu and/or addicted to the seemingly easy business they've been earning from for so many years. Thus, they will always make a comeback. Only those who are sincerely willing to be drug-free would become drug-free.
If the surrenderee believes being in the list of surrenderees would protect him from prison, ayay, unsaon na lang. The list is there to guide the authorities on who are the badlongon in the barangay. Gosh. It was so easy convincing them to surrender, eh? If only they knew...
And if you're wondering why you're receiving advertisements through your phone, remember when you were filling up some forms at the mall? Was the cell phone number included in their queries? 'Yon na. It was kind of a surrender, too, for clueless you.
If the surrenderers believe in the power of prayer, it's time for them to pray. Because there was a sign: I was reading old newspapers on Tuesday afternoon when I saw a title on the front page of Philippine Daily Inquirer's March 21, 2016 issue, “In shrine, prayers 'locked' to heaven.” And that's while I was listening to Bruno Mars' “Locked Out of Heaven.” I guess that's what you call as coincidence.
It's hibernation for me as the knee heals. Time to read, write, read pa more, write pa more. Then, insert some work and spring cleaning in between.
And I should stop eating chocolates!
And have hopia mongo instead?
Sugar is supposed to be the worst culprit behind health woes. But the small fridge in the room is still filled with chocolates, so, indulge while supply lasts.
How to remove sugar from your diet--that's the question. But let's not dwell on that question, as friends are now bent on asking how the knee is doing by visiting me at home. And pairing that with food trip galore. Yum!
So, surrender na lang ta...to the yummiest food specialities that my friends can prepare. No pusong bato for these berks. We are all pusong mamon, thank you.
And I heard PNP Chief Bato has a pusong mamon, too. Proof: A photo where he's holding hands with his wife, with his eyes closed, probably resting in between his busy sked.
Mamon is one more yummy food to indulge in, if you're not yet scared of sugar. Then, add tapioca salad to that, and loads of regular soda. Yum!
