CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Thousands of students at Carmen National High School are expected to benefit from a new three-story smart school building equipped with modern learning facilities aimed at improving classroom instruction and student safety.
The Cagayan de Oro City government formally turned over the fully furnished, three-story building on Friday, providing nine new classrooms designed to support technology-assisted learning.
The new facility features computer sets, projectors, LED televisions, speakers and microphones, teachers' tables and cabinets, student chairs with built-in lockers, individual comfort rooms, a fire protection system, and a water pumping system.
City officials said the project fulfills a long-standing goal to provide better learning spaces for students in Barangay Carmen, one of the city's most populated communities.
During the turnover, city officials emphasized that investing in modern classrooms will help improve the quality of education and prepare students for future opportunities.
Students were also encouraged to take care of the new facilities so future batches can continue benefiting from them.
The city government acknowledged the support of the Local School Board, the Department of Education-Cagayan de Oro, school officials and teachers, the Barangay Carmen Council led by Barangay Captain Kikang Uy, and other local government partners who helped complete the project.
Officials said education remains one of the city's top priorities, with continued investments in school infrastructure aimed at creating safer, more conducive learning environments for Cagayan de Oro learners.
The smart school building is expected to ease classroom congestion while giving Carmen National High School students access to facilities that support digital and interactive learning. (Ben Balce, Editorial Lead)
