CAGAYAN de Oro City's local government unit (LGU-CDO) was honored by the PhilHealth Regional Office 10, led by Regional Vice President Delio A. Aseron II, as the "Top Performing Government Employer."

This recognition was given under the administration of Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy.

City Mayor's Office chief of staff Shiela Lumbatan said the city received this distinction for its efficient remittance and timely submission of necessary documents through the PhilHealth Online Electronic Premium Remittance System (EPRS) in the year 2022.

In addition to the LGU, Barangay Carmen also received recognition as the "Top Performing Konsulta Provider" in Cagayan de Oro.

This commendation was bestowed upon them for achieving the highest number of First Patient Encounters (FPE) from January 2022 to June 2023.

Lumbatan said the awarding ceremony took place on October 23 at a local mall, organized by PhilHealth 10, to acknowledge the contributions of all partner-stakeholders within the agency.

City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas and Dr. Efren G. Celeste, the department manager of the City Health Insurance Office, joyfully accepted the accolades on behalf of their respective institutions.

It is important to remember that the PhilHealth KonSulTa (Konsultasyon Sulit at Tama) program aligns with the implementation of the Universal Health Care Law.

This initiative according to Lumbatan aims to expand outpatient health services, such as primary care services, select laboratory and diagnostic examinations, as well as select drugs and medicines.

The PhilHealth Konsulta Provider facilities in the city are located in various health centers, including those in Barangay Carmen, Lapasan, Nazareth, Tablon, the City Health Office, Lumbia Infirmary Facility, and JR Borja General Hospital.

"These facilities ensure that residents have access to quality healthcare services within their communities,: said Lumbatan.

She said that the recognition bestowed upon the LGU-CDO and Barangay Carmen serves as a testament to their dedication and commitment to providing outstanding public service in the healthcare sector.

They continue to prioritize the welfare and well-being of their constituents, ensuring they receive the necessary care and support in accordance with the Universal Health Care Law, Lumbatan added. (With a report from CIO)
