IN a recent multi-department meeting held at the City Council's conference room, the City Mayor's Office Chief of Staff, Sheila Lumbatan, revealed plans for the 2024 business permit renewal and application process in Cagayan de Oro City.
The meeting, which took place on Monday afternoon, addressed various concerns, including the traffic route and parking space arrangements for individuals renewing or applying for business permits.
Lumbatan said, that to ensure a smooth and efficient process, the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) has prepared a comprehensive plan for managing traffic flow and securing sufficient parking spaces near the City Tourism Hall.
The City Tourism Hall is the designated venue for the annual business permit renewal and registration, according to Lumbatan.

"One of the main objectives of the plan is to minimize the inconvenience caused by heavy traffic during the permit renewal period," says Lumbatan.
The RTA has carefully assessed the current traffic situation and devised a route plan that aims to improve the movement of vehicles near the City Tourism Hall.
By strategically managing the flow of cars, they intend to reduce congestion and alleviate the burden on business owners and applicants.
Additionally, the meeting discussed the need for designated help desks within the vicinity of the City Tourism Hall.
These help desks will be situated in key areas to provide prompt assistance to individuals who have questions or require guidance during the business permit renewal and application process.
Lumbatan added that the presence of knowledgeable personnel at the help desks is expected to facilitate a more efficient and customer-friendly experience for the transacting public.
The introduction of the help desks will further streamline the process, ensuring that individuals receive the necessary support and information they need to complete their business permit renewal or application, said Lumbatan.
"The plans unveiled at the multi-department meeting reflect the city government's commitment to improving public services and promoting a business-friendly environment," Lumbatan stressed.
She added that by addressing the challenges associated with the annual business permit renewal and application process, the local government aims to attract more entrepreneurs and facilitate economic growth within Cagayan de Oro City.
As the preparations for the 2024 business permit renewal and application continue, the city's residents and business community can look forward to a more organized and convenient experience.
"The implementation of these initiatives signifies the city's dedication to ensuring a smooth and hassle-free process, ultimately benefiting both business owners and the overall development of the city's economy," said Lumbatan.
