CAGAYAN de Oro City — Fourteen-year-old Morrison Bolongaita won seven medals at the Division Meet 2026, leading the Liceo Titans swim team and qualifying for the regional meet.

Competing on Oct. 17–18 at Kagay-an Lawndale Spring Resort in Taguanao, Bolongaita collected three gold and four silver medals in secondary boys’ individual and relay events.

Representing Liceo de Cagayan University and Lets Swim CDO, he swept the 50-meter, 100-meter and 200-meter breaststroke events for three gold medals.

He also won silver in the 200-meter individual medley, 50-meter butterfly, 200-meter medley relay and 400-meter medley relay.

Teammate Jewel Zelene M. Ferrera also qualified for the regional meet, winning gold in the 1500-meter freestyle, 800-meter freestyle and 200-meter freestyle relay. She added silver medals in the 400-meter and 200-meter freestyle and bronze in the 100-meter backstroke.

Mary Rose L. Sabillo won gold in the 400-meter freestyle relay and bronze in the 100-meter butterfly, while Blessy earned silver in the 400-meter medley relay.

In the elementary division, Hugh Visitacion qualified for the regional meet with a silver in the 200-meter medley relay and bronze in the 100-meter backstroke.

Elementary teammates Francine Balabat, Zeus Keandre Montero, Lyxis Ain Cayanong and Alyssa Vergara also secured silver in the 200-meter medley relay. Blaine Shadrach Cellar won silver in the 400-meter medley relay.

Liceo Titans head coach Arvin Parajes credited Bolongaita’s discipline and training for his performance, particularly in breaststroke technique, timing, kick efficiency and streamlined movement.

Parajes said the swimmer’s silver medals in butterfly, individual medley and relay events also showed his ability to compete across different disciplines.

Bolongaita also qualified for the national Batang Pinoy meet, but the team declined the invitation to avoid disrupting classes and focus on preparations for the regional competition.

The team’s next goal is to improve his personal-best times and prepare him for higher-level competitions, Parajes said.
