THE National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has completed key restoration efforts in the Visayas Grid following a 6.9-magnitude earthquake in Cebu.
As of October 3, NGCP has energized the Daanbantayan-Tabango 230kV Line 2 submarine cable, linking Cebu and Leyte.
Over 60 NGCP personnel were deployed to work on restoration activities, which included repairs to damaged facilities at the Daanbantayan Substation.
Power transmission services in the Visayas were normalized as early as October 1, with the Compostela-Daanbantayan 230kV Line 1 later energized on October 7.
Restoration works are ongoing for the Daanbantayan-Tabango 230kV Line 1.
NGCP assures the public that it is working to ensure grid stability and reliability, with teams remaining on alert for potential aftershocks.
