PLDT, the leading and most diversified telecommunications group in the country  FVP and Head of Enterprise Business Group Mitch Locsin on Thursday announced the company's significant efforts in acquiring more Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and providing them with digital solutions. 

Locsin mentioned that this includes their Maya offering and extending it with business loans for SMEs, along with bundling digital solutions like Google Workspace. 

During the PLDT 2023 First Half Earnings Briefing, Locsin stated that they have been gaining ground by acquiring about 5,000 new MSMEs every month.

In line with their commitment to community technopreneurship, earlier, the PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. led a multi-sectoral learning caravan in Region 10, focusing on empowering MSMEs in Northern Mindanao. 

The collaboration with Shopee Philippines and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 aimed to enhance digital skills and support small businesses in the region.

Judee Chaves, Mindanao Relations Head of the Stakeholder Management Team at PLDT and Smart, expressed the importance of utilizing technology to boost the income of small businesses and drive communities forward. 

The learning caravan, titled "Pilipinas: Aahon at Babangon, Ace your E-Commerce Game!", aimed to assist participating MSMEs in harnessing technology for business growth through digital tools.

Additionally, PLDT and Smart partnered with the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur to empower Maranao cooperatives through digital skills training. 

Maranao entrepreneurs learned about digital literacy, storytelling, and social media to enhance their branding and expand their market reach.

Overall, PLDT is working diligently to acquire more SMEs, provide digital solutions, and support the growth of small businesses in various regions of the Philippines.
