CAGAYAN de Oro City — Some 140 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are showcasing locally made products and business opportunities at the 12th Zamboanga Peninsula Exposition (ZAMPEX) 2026, which opened Oct. 7 at the KCC Convention Center.
Running until Oct. 11, the annual trade fair aims to connect local businesses with buyers, investors and visitors while promoting products from across the Zamboanga Peninsula.
Held under the theme “Evolve. Expand. Excel.,” the exposition features processed food, organic goods, fashion accessories, furniture, home décor, handicrafts and other locally made products.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Assistant Secretary for Regional Operations Leonila Baluyut, Zamboanga City Mayor Khymer Olaso and DTI-9 Regional Director Al Lipae led the opening ceremonies.
Olaso said the fair gives entrepreneurs a venue to showcase their products and introduce the region’s business and investment opportunities.
He added that holding ZAMPEX alongside the annual Zamboanga Hermosa Festival highlights the city’s economic activity and cultural heritage.
Local products, wider markets
The five-day fair features local government pavilions promoting products, investment opportunities and ecotourism destinations.
Exhibitors represent Zamboanga City, Isabela City, Basilan, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Sulu.
For participating businesses, the exposition offers an opportunity to reach potential customers and introduce regional products to a wider market.
