A 29-year-old person died and another, a minor, was hospitalized after two unidentified gunmen shot them while attending a wake at Barangay Dansolihon, Cagayan de Oro City, at 12 noon on Sunday, this week.
Cagayan de Oro City Police Office Director Aaron Mandia, identified the victims as Benjie Arejas, single, and a resident of Purok 3 of the said Barangay.
Arejas sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the different parts of his body that resulted in his death.
While the minor was hit on the right leg and is now being treated in a government hospital.
In a police report, it was learned that the victims were among some individuals attending a wake at Tabodlong residence.
Suddenly, two gunmen appeared and without provocation shot Arejas six times. Unfortunately, a stray bullet hit a minor.
Scene of the Crime Operatives found six fired cartridges at the crime scene.
Police are still investigating the incident and the identities of the suspects including their motives.
