TWO persons, one a minor will be facing charges in court for violating the Commission on Election (Comelec) gun ban.

Bukidnon Police Provincial Director Jun Mark Lagare identified one of the suspects as Felix Alvarez, 18, unemployed, and a resident of Zone 7, Sitio San Roque, Sinanglanan, Malaybalay City of the said province. The minor's identity was withheld.

It was learned that the incident happened last Wednesday at 7:30 pm when personnel assigned at 1st Bukidnon Police Mobile Force Company (BPMFC) led by Police Lt. Danilo Sabornido, Jr. conducted One Time-One Big Time (OTBT) COMELEC checkpoint under the supervision of PoLice Col. Demver Vergara, Force Commander, at Zone 5, Barangay Casisang of the same City.

According to a police report, the suspects were riding a motorcycle without a plate number when they were flagged down by Vergara's men.

During a body, search police found from the suspects' possession a caliber .45 pistol, Colt M1911, a U.S. model with serial no. 692715; 2 steel magazines; and 13 rounds cal. 45 live ammunition.

When asked whether they have pertinent papers for the motorcycle, the suspects failed to show.

The suspects were brought to Malaybalay City Police Station for proper disposition while the confiscated firearm was brought to PNP Bukidnon Provincial Forensic Unit for ballistic examination.

The two will be facing charges in Violation of Republic Act 10591 and Violation of Omnibus Election Code in a Comelec checkpoint.
