TWO 72-year-old-persons in Gingoog City are now in jail after they have been arrested in connection with the nine counts of General Banking Act 2000 violation, Wednesday, this week.

Police Col. Raniel Valones, Misamis Oriental Provincial Police Director, identified the suspects as Gorgonio Villadores, married, and residing at Barangay Waterfalls, Balingasag of the said province; and Geronimo Reyes, married, and residing at Purok 6, Barangay Hinaplanon, Iligan City.

Judge Giovanni Alfred Navarro of the Regional Trial Court 10-Branch 27, Gingoog City, recommended both the suspects a total of P540,000 as bail bond so they could temporarily enjoy their freedom while a court hearing is ongoing.

Valones said the suspects were arrested by elements assigned at Gingoog City Police Station led by Police Lt. Col. Mitchel Clemencio by virtue of an arrest warrant at Purok 3, Barangay 22-A of the said city at 11:30 am.

The operation was conducted by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Giovanni Alfred Navarro of the Regional Trial Court 10-Branch 27, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental dated May 10, 2022.

The suspects are now under the custody of Gingoog City Police Station for booking and documentation and will be turned over to the issuing court for proper disposition.
