THREE Roman Catholic archbishops yesterday joined a group in questioning the government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front’s Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro (FAB) and the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) before the Supreme Court. The Roman Catholic leaders––Davao Archbishop Emeritus Fernando Capalla, Zamboanga Archbishop Romulo de la Cruz, and Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles––joined the Philippine Constitution Association (Philconsa) in filing petitions to declare the agreements unconstitutional. Philconsa also asked the SC to stop the government through the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) from releasing funds in connection with the FAB, CAB, and proposed Bangsamoro law. Philconsa is led by Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, a relative of Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. who has declared that he would not allow the proposed Bangsamoro law to be approved by the Senate in its present form. The petitioners also incide former senator Francisco Tatad and former National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales.
