In Bukidnon-a jeepney driver, a furniture maker, and a farmer are now in jail after they were arrested in separate operations by authorities within this week for selling illegal drugs.
Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, the province’s Police Provincial Director, identified the suspects as Richard Bretaña alias ‘Bano,’ jeepney driver, 45, married, residing at Sitio Kalaguntay, Maramag; Randy Cabaluna, 33, single, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Mapayag, Malaybalay City, and Jalil Diamla, 24, married of Muslim Village, Wa-o, Lanao del Sur.
In a police report, it was revealed that authorities were able to seize the suspects' illegal drugs with an estimated total value of P41,990.
Pangantucan police station operatives first arrested Bretaña on August 8 at 5:10 pm while at Gawad Kalinga, Barangay Adtuyon of the said municipality.
Taken from him were four sachets with an estimated value of P3,808, P500 buy-bust money, and a mobile phone.
The following day, Malaybalay police nabbed Cabaluna the furniture maker, 33, single, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Mapayag of the said city.
Seized from his possession were eight sachets of suspected shabu with a total estimated street value of P7,682, buy-bust money of P500 cash, and a disposable lighter.
Then yesterday, August 10 at 9:30 am Tomasis, a farmer also fell in an entrapment operation conducted by personnel assigned at Don Carlos Municipal Police Station together with Police Intelligence Unit, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, and other arresting groups at Sitio Lower Pinamaloy of the said town.
Police were able to recover from him 4 sachets of a white substance believed to be shabu with an estimated value of P30,500, shabu paraphernalia, some personal belongings, and P150 cash.
All the suspects with the recovered items were brought to the respective police station for proper disposition.
