A company worker in Talakag, Bukidnon was killed while four of his companions were wounded after their co-employee shot them last Thursday at 5 pm.

The incident occurred at Purok-2, Barangay San Isidro, Talakag of the said province.

Police Capt. Benjamin Alvarez lll, Talakag Municipal Station commander, identified the dead as Romulo Monterde, 45, married, a timekeeper of Segrack Worker Engineering, and a resident of Sitio Landing, Barangay San Isidro of the said municipality.

The three other victims were also identified as Prince Adrian, 21, driller/helper; Joenel Ambot, 39, laborer, all residing at the same barangay; and Alexander Macapaz, 53, foreman, and a native of Cebu City.

The suspect, who was able to escape after the incident, was identified as George Mamac.

In an initial investigation, it was learned that the incident took place while the victims were in the area supposedly to collect their salary.

Suddenly, the suspect appeared and without saying a word shot them one by one using a .45 caliber pistol before hurriedly fleeing away from the scene of the crime.

It was Monterde who sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the different parts of his body.

Responding authorities rushed the victims to Talakag Provincial Hospital where Monterde was declared dead by an attending physician while the other victims are still under observation.

Discovered at the crime scene were five fired cartridge cases of caliber .45, and three spent bullets.

Police investigators are still conducting a thorough investigation regarding the motive of the killing and the whereabouts of the suspect.
