IN a day at least six rape suspects, four of them are senior citizens, were arrested by authorities in separate operations in Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental. All the suspects were nabbed on February 25.

Bukidnon Police Provincial Director Jun Mark Lagare, identified the suspects as Constancio Lucbo, 70, residing at Purok 3, Kaatuan, Lantapan; Wene Bendoy alias Winnie, 60, a resident of Purok 5, Sitio Gutasan, Barangay Capenan, Libona; Renato Navales, 51 of Purok 4, Barangay Mirangiran, Quezon; Charlito Guimbalon, Jr., 37 of Purok 6, Barangay Bagontaas, Valencia City; and Peter Sumaya, 64, residing at Barangay Matupe, San Fernando, all of Bukidnon.

While those in Misamis Oriental were identified by Provincial Director Raniel Valones as Peter Sumaya, 67, residing at the municipality of Binoangan.

Lucbo was the first to be arrested by elements of Lantapan Municipal Station led by Police Major Jayvee Babaan at 3:30 am at Sitio Katamanan, Barangay Songco of the said town.

Judge Emmanuel Pasal of the Regional Trial Court-Branch 10, recommended him no bail bond.

Lucbo was tagged by the police as the no. 6 most wanted person (MWP) at the municipal level

30 minutes later Bendoy was arrested by members of Libona Municipal Police Station under Police Lt. Reyman Pontillas together with the Provincial Intelligence Unit, and 1st Bukidnon Police Mobile Force Company at his residence at Sitio Gutasan of the said barangay.

Judge Jeanne Marie Abarrientos of the RTC-Branch 10 slapped the suspect with a P120,000 bail bond for his temporary liberty.

Bendoy was in the top 5 MWP at the provincial level.

Meanwhile, Navales was arrested at about 5:30 pm at Purok 4, Barangay Paitan, Quezon by personnel belonging to Quezon Municipal Police Station headed by Police Lt. Col. Demver Vergara, together with Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the Regional Special Operation Unit-10.

Judge Wilfredo Bibera, Jr., RTC-Branch 10, Malaybalay City disallowed him to post bail.

While in San Fernando, personnel of Binoangan Municipal Police Station (BMPS), 103rd Coy Regional Mobile Force Battalion and Police Special Operation Team-Mis. Or, and San Fernando MPS arrested Sumaya at 5 am at Barangay Matupe.

Judge Richard Mordeno of RTC, Branch 22, did not allow him for a bail bond.

Matupe was the no. 1 MWP at the municipal level.

At 7 am on the same date, Guimbalon was arrested for 2 counts of the same offense while at Barangay Bagontaas of the said city.

Judge Isobel Barroso, RTC, Branch 8, Malaybalay City recommended him no bail bond.

The suspect was the number 9 MWP at the city level.

On the other hand, Police, Col. Raniel Valones said, Surila was nabbed at Purok 1, Barangay Tabok, Lagonglong at 10:30 am by police personnel assigned at Lagonglong Municipal Police Station led by Police Lt. Elpedio Boniao, Jr. together with other units at about 10:30 am.

Judge Irene Pontejos, RTC, Branch 7, Tacloban City, recommended him no bail bond.

All the suspects were temporarily detained at the respective police station mini-cell for proper disposition.
