SEVEN mountain climbers in Bukidnon surrendered themselves to authorities yesterday after they were issued warrants of arrest for violating the law protecting Mt. Kitanglad.
Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, the province’s Police provincial director, identified the suspects as Rhonz Frince Mitt Nere, 23, student, a resident of Zone 1, Lonucan, Manolo Fortich; Glenn Tarroza, 23, student, residing at Zone 5, Libertad Pob. Surallah, South Cotabato; Kirk Patrick Carpio, 25, student, a resident of Palma st. Purok 14, Poblacion; and Kady Valmorez, 18, student, a resident of Palma St. Purok 14, both of Valencia City;
Also who surrendered were all Maramag residents they were: Jheymore Pugoy, 22, student of Purok 4, Camp 1, Novenne Edward Lauga, 20, a resident of Purok 16, Musuan, and Vincent Philip Sinanggote, 22, a resident of Purok 6, South Poblacion.
All of them surrendered to the Impasug-ong police station at 4 pm.
The suspects, according to police have a standing warrant of arrest for violating section 7 (c) (5) known as “Mt. Kitanglad Range Protected Area Act of 2000” docketed under Criminal Case No. 2022-20-I.
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Jerlie Luis-Requerme of the 3rd Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC), Impasugong-Sumilao, Bukidnon dated June 8, 2022.
Requirme allowed the suspects to post bail in the amount of P30,000 each.
All the suspects are now under the custody of Impasug police for proper disposition.
