By NITZ ARANCON Correspondent COAST guard Rod Alain Pagaling was supposed to officially tie the knot with the mother of his three-year-old daughter in May. It did not happen. Pagaling’s 28-year old common-law wife Judith Pradia broke into tears as she begged President Aquino and local officials to save Pagaling and two others who were seized allegedly by the Abu Sayyaf in  Aliguay Island off Dapitan City in May 4. In an interview in their small house at Zone 10, Upper Carmen, this city, Pradia said they were scheduled to get married in May 25, the day their daughter Allana celebrated her third birthday. “No marriage took place because he was abducted,” said Pradia, in tears and holding their child. She said the last time she and Pagaling talked was over the phone in the evening of May 3. She said she called him up to discuss their wedding plans, and their daughter’s then upcoming birthday. Pradia said Pagaling told her about an Abu Sayyaf threat in Aliguay Island, and that some members of the extremist group were in the area. “Before we ended our phone convervsartion, I even told him to take care,” she recalled. That was the last time she and Pagaling had contact. Pagaling, Coast Guard Seaman 2nd class Gringo Villaruz of Tagoloan Misamis Oriental, and barangay chairman Robert Bulagao of Aliguay Island, Zamboanga del Norte, went missing the following day. “I tried calling but there was no answer,” Pradia said. No one knew the three were held captive until a video went viral on social media last week. In the video, the three captives begged for help, and said their captors would behead them unless ransom is paid. Authorities said the Abu Sayyaf demanded P6 million for the two coast guards, and P4 million for the barangay chairman. She called on President Aquino to do everything he can to save her 30-year old common-law husband and the two other captives. In Pilipino, she appealed to Aquino: “President, sana tulongan n’yo po sila.  Kawawa naman yung kalagayan nila ngayon, hindi basta-basta yung kinakalayagan nila ngayon, President Noynoy. Sana po huwag n’yo sila pabaya-an, President, na may  masamang mangyari sa kanila. Huwag n’yo po  hayaan, President, na merong mangyaring patayan didto sa Mindanao,” said Pradia, crying. She also called on Mayor Oscar Moreno to help. “Mayor Moreno, tabani intawom kami nga maluwas si Rod, ug iyang mga kauban, malo-oy intawon ka namo, mayor.” Pradia begged the captors: “Malo-oy intawom kamo sa akong bana, buhi-e na intawon na sila. Unsa may kuwartahon ninyo ana nila nga nanginabuhi ra man gani na sila? Nanarbaho ra man na sila aron mabuhi ra  pud intawon kami.”
