By NITZ ARANCON Correspondent JUSTICE Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has revoked an order to replace the head of the City Prosecutor’s Office even as he directed prosecutor Merlyn Uy to return and take back the post. Aguirre’s move came even as the previous order from the justice department highlighted what could be cracks in the working relationship of those in the local prosecution office apparently as a result of gossips and backbiting. Aguirre on Wednesday took back his May 8 order for Pangasinan provincial prosecutor Abraham Ramos II to replace Uy. The May 8 order was supposed to take effect on Monday but Ramos never came, grounding all inquest proceedings at the local prosecution office to a halt. Uy assumed as acting city prosecutor again yesterday morning, a day after she received Aguirre’s new order. “Imbis nanghipos nako sa akong mga gamit, balik na sad ko dinhi,” Uy said. Uy said she received the new Department of Justice order from Aguirre at around 4 pm Wednesday, a day after she reported for work at the Regional State Prosecutor’s Office. She said she was unaware of Aguirre’s reason for change of mind. “Si Prosecutor Ramos, wala man pod ibalik ni Secretary Aguirre sa Pangasinan pero didto ra siya gi-assign sa central office sa DOJ,” Uy said. Uy however spoke about her being a victim of rumormongers. She said she felt bad when she heard a rumor going the rounds that corruption factored in Aguirre’s May 8 order to replace her. “Nakadungog kog storya nga gielieve kuno ko kay  corrupt. Dili man gyud na tinood. Ambot asa kaha na gikan nga storya,” Uy said. One of Uy’s subordinates, assistant city prosecutor Jonathan Pacuribot, frowned over allegations of corruption against the acting city prosecutor, saying these were meant to smear Uy’s reputation. “Gida-ot lang na siya (Uy)  gi-intriga ba, pero wala gyud nay kamato-oran nang ilang mga intriga pulos bakak,” Pacuribot said.
