BUKIDNON-- The local government of Impasugongtown here in Bukidnon and the 8IB Army rendered delivery of basic service in Barangay Imapalutao during its 24th founding anniversary last July 9, 2015.
Mayor Anthony A. Uy, in cooperation with the 8th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army conducted the activity along with the implementation of the ImpasugongConvergence Program “Magbuliga Koy” (let us help one another), an IP-centric collaborative program of the LGU-Impasugong and its local government agencies, the religious and business sector, and the PNP and the 8th Infantry Battalion.
The program was aimed at sustaining peace and promoting development by addressing local issues which breed conflict; delivering basic services and helping out the communities through infrastructure and livelihood projects.
Some 700 local populace benefitted from the services rendered during the event, which mainly focused on medical consultation, tooth extraction, circumcision, free haircut, free issuance of police clearances, land titling services, registration, immunization of livestock, antiabies vaccination of dogs, community consultation dialogue and mass wedding, among others.
This activity also informed the people of the commitment of the government to provide genuine services in its mission to promote peace and goodwill among its constituents.
Impasugong Convergence Program has now taken its flight towards achieving a bright future for the beautiful and productive Municipality of Impasugong.
Riddled with the perennial conflict brought about by insurgency, the local leaders of the municipality have taken a noble stand to combat poverty and lack of quality services from the government and finally defeat issues that divide and lure the people into false agrarian revolution and the deceitful armed struggle by the communist New People’s Army. In his message, Mayor Uy thanked the military for its presence and continued commitment to help the municipality in sustaining peace in the locality.
