A 21-year-old resident of Barangay Balubal, who threatened his neighbor with a katana (Japanese sword) and an airgun, is now in jail after he was arrested by members of the barangay tanod in the area, yesterday, at 8:30 in the morning.

Police Col. Aaron Mandia, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office director, identified the suspect as Armando Tabasan, single, resident of Purok 2 of the said barangay.

The arrest came after a certain Robert Reive Roxas, 40, of Purok 4, Barangay Tablon, lodged a complaint to the barangay complaint desk that the former had threatened him.

Responding tanod immediately went to the area and arrested Tabasan who in turn yielded the deadly weapons to the authorities.

Personnel from Police Station 6, led by Police Lt. Angel Winston Salvacion, went to the area and arrested Tabasan.

The suspect, who is inside the police mini-cell, will be facing cases in relation to the Commission on Election gun ban and illegal possession of a bladed weapon.
