TWO still unidentified men shot dead a peanut vendor at the rotunda here at 2:30 am yesterday. Police said the suspects were on a motorcycle when they attacked peanut vendor Bervin Bermudez Jr., a native of Kiyaab, Antipas  in North Cotabato, near Barangay Nazareth. SPO3 Ruel Rodriguez of the Macasandig police said the victim was shot from behind with a 9mm pistol. Bermudez succumbed to at least six gunshot wounds in the back. Rodriguez said witnesses have come forward to say that the suspects fled on a  blue Honday XRM motorcycle, with no license plate. Rodriguez said Bermudez was merely walking on a pedestrian lane when he was attacked by the motorcycleiding men. Police said they have yet to determine the motive for the killing. The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) said it found unused and used 9mm pistol ammunition, a bolo, a bag with clothings and a sack of cartons at the crime scene. Soco said Bermudez had P210 in his pocket, six cigarette sticks and a lighter, and a silver bracelet and ring. (nitz arancon)
