'BISAYA Gyud’ party-list filed for its certificate of candidacy (COC) and certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) for the May 2022 elections on Thursday, October 7, 2021.

Victorino Garay, president of the Bisaya Gyud Party-list, and members of the party-list arrived at the Harbor Garden of Sofitel Manila in Pasay City this afternoon.

The neophyte group seeks to uphold the rights and welfare of the Bisaya and continue the development programs instituted by President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bong Go in the regions of Visayas and Mindanao.

It plans to do so by focusing on three major areas of concern, namely, food, shelter, and education.

“Nagsimula ang Bisaya Gyud sa boluntaryong pagbibigay ng serbisyo sa mga nangangailangan,” Garay said in a statement.

Garay said they have served as a bridge to Filipinos who only know a little about the Duterte administration's programs that they can used for their development.

Garay stressed that the lack of local opportunity in the islands of Visayas and Mindanao has pushed Bisayas to take the risk of migrating to highly-urbanized areas like Metro Manila or abroad.

“Migration due to lack of opportunities - ‘yan po ang reyalidad,” he said, adding that the development gap is even widening due to the lack of opportunities in the countryside.

In response, Garay said they will try to provide as much as they can for all Visayan brothers and sisters, particularly in the sectors of agriculture, business, arts, and culture.

It is time for us to give full interest to the countryside development,” he said.

(PR)
