CAMIGUIN bagged the third most competitive province in the country during the 8th Regional Competitiveness Summit on December 16, said in a press statement Friday.
"Improving performance and attractiveness for investments, Camiguin emerged as the 3rd Most Competitive Province," a report said.
Mambajao was named the Most Competitive Municipality for the 3rd-4th class municipalities as well as it bagged the first spot on government efficiency. The town also landed the second spot for economic dynamism and infrastructure.
Sagay town is named the 16th Most Competitive Municipality for the 5th-6th class municipalities, 15th in government efficiency, and 12th in infrastructure.
Guinsiliban on the other hand spotted the 13th place in infrastructure for the 5th-6th class municipalities.
Also during the 8th Regional Competitiveness Summit, Mahinog was named the Third Most Competitive Municipality for the 5th-6th class municipalities as well as it bagged the first spot on government efficiency, 6th on infrastructure and 7th on resilience.
Meanwhile, Catarman is named the 7th Most Competitive Municipality for 5th-6th class municipalities, 12th in government efficiency, 7th in infrastructure, and 9th in resilience.
Rankings of cities and municipalities are based on the sum of their scores on four pillars that include Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, and Resiliency.
Provincial rankings are based on population and income weighted average of the overall scores of cities and municipalities under a province.
The Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) is developed by the National Competitiveness Council (NCC) through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs).
In 2019, Camiguin was named the fourth Most Competitive Province throughout the country. (Recthie Tolinero/PIA10)
