Camiguin waives swab test for vaxxed tourists starting Nov. 15

PROVINCE of Camiguin will no longer require fully vaccinated tourists to submit a negative RT-PCR test results starting November 15, the provincial government said Saturday.

This is to help the country's economy to recover, starting November 15, 2021, the report said.

It added that Camiguin will allow entry of fully vaccinated against COVID-19 travelers to the island without requiring a reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test.

Based on Executive Order No. 114-A, a traveler including the accompanying children may be allowed to enter the province by obtaining a registration and health declaration under the CleanCamiguin quick response (QR) system through www.cleancamiguinqr.com, and a CleanCamiguin QR code.

Travelers also need a confirmed reservation with an accommodation establishment in the province.
For tourists who will stay in a private home, they will need a clearance from the municipal government of the town where they will be staying in lieu of a confirmed reservation, according to the report.

Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination for adults, or of at least partial COVID-19 vaccination for accompanying children aged 12-17 years old is also required.

“Tourists shall be checked for COVID-19 symptoms, valid identification and the entry requirements provided herein,” Camiguin governor Jurdin Jesus Romualdo said.

He added that tourists exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms and those with incomplete requirements shall not be allowed in the province.

Those who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms during their stay in the province are required to undergo RT-PCR testing at their own expense.

Tourists who test positive for COVID-19 along with his or her accompanying close contacts must undergo quarantine or if practicable, may leave the province.

The latter shall be responsible for making arrangements for their travel including their acceptance by the local government unit (LGU) of their destination.

Ecotourism sites in the province shall be open to fully-vaccinated persons, whether residents of Camiguin or tourists, and their accompanying unvaccinated minor children below 12 years of age.

Accompanying minor children, 12-17 years old, must have at least received their first COVID-19 vaccine dose to be allowed entry in the said sites.

Accompanying adult children should be fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 to be allowed entry in the ecotourism sites. (RTP/PIA-10)
