TWO Cagayan de Oro opposition parties, Centrist Democratic and Padayon Pilipino on Friday finally completed its city slate for the 2022 elections.

The CDP Cagayan de Oro City chapter convened and even revealed its complete party nominees for the 2022 polls yesterday.

CDP chapter president Jocelyn “Bebot” Rodriguez led the local convention through an online platform which was attended by CDP key officials and supporters.

The party also officially nominated incumbent congressman Rufus Rodriguez to run for reelection as the 2nd district representative of Cagayan de Oro City.

“I am honored to accept the nomination as congressman of the 2nd district of Cagayan de Oro,” Rufus said.

We have done exemplary work in Congress since 2007 and I intend to continue what we have started, according to Rodriguez adding that more budget for social services, infrastructure, health, education — all this we will get forKagay-anons.

For vice mayoral post, Bebot Rodriguez was unanimously nominated by members of the party.

“It is with great honor to accept the challenge of my party and the people for Cagayan de Oro. I accept the nomination for vice mayor,” said Bebot.

She said that it’s time to save the city.

“Panahon na para mobangon ang dakbayan sa Cagayan de Oro,” she said.

Included likewise in the nomination are city councilors for the first district, such as former Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board regional director Manny Darimbang, media personality Bernie Bitok Bitok and Dr. Dures Tagayuna.

For the second district: lawyer James Judith, businessman Tony Uy and Nixon Baban.

In the same meeting, a motion has been adopted by the CDP to allow its president to enter into an alliance with Padayon Pilipino, as a result of consolidating and expanding the efforts in both districts.

The CDP also adopted as its candidates who the party will fully support Phividec Administrator Pompee La Viña for Mayor and Councilor Lordan Suan for 1st District Congressman.

The coalition is composed of CDP, Padayon Pilipino and the La Viña organization. It will have a complete slate of candidates for city positions. (Ben Balce)
