A MAN from Valencia City, Bukidnon is facing charges for allegedly selling unlicensed firearms, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group said Wednesday.
Arrested by a joint team of law enforcers was Felix Beltran, 32, of Purok 17, Barangay Poblacion, Valencia.
City police chief Lt. Col. Surki Sereñas said Beltran is a worker of the Mt. Kitanglad Agricultural Development Corp. in Barangay Lurugan, Valencia.
He said the suspect was selling firearms inside the company’s compound.
Confiscated from Beltran were a Colt pistol, a .38 caliber revolver pistol, a grenade, two magazine clips for the .45 caliber pistol, pieces of live ammunition, a 16-inch dagger, a black holster, a P500 bill, and a motorcycle.
Col. Harold Ramos, regional chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, said the suspect is a member of a crime group allegedly involved in gunrunning and gun-for-hire activities in Bukidnon.
“The suspect is known to be selling firearms,” he said.
Beltran, he said, was arrested after one of the CIDG-10 operatives posed as a buyer.
Ramos said the firearms the suspect was trying to sell were unlicensed although these appeared to have been used.
