AS Cagayan de Oro City Hall held its last ‘Klarex Nga Serbisyo Sa Baryo’ outreach program for this year, both employees and department managers were reminded to always clean up their respective areas before leaving the site.
“A reminder to all departments: There’s feedback from our constituents particularly from school principals (about how messy some of our assigned areas are). So we will issue reminders to these departments (about cleaning up their respective areas). We had an understanding in our coordination meeting last August that we (will clean as we go),” City Administrator Roy Hilario Raagas told the bureaucracy last Monday.
Raagas said this during Monday morning’s flag-raising program as he mentioned that a school principal in Barangay Gusa informed them about the mess supposedly left behind by one of the departments in the school.
Covered courts and schools are among the venues occupied by City Hall departments during the ‘Klarex Nga Serbisyo Sa Baryo’ program that Mayor Uy launched in August.
From its original schedule of Thursday every week — in time for the ‘People’s Day’ program held on Wednesdays and Thursdays every week — the ‘Klarex Nga Serbisyo Sa Baryo’ was re-scheduled to Saturdays last September and then every other Saturday last November.
“Probably due to their heavy workload, some City Hall departments forget or are too tired (to clean up their areas),” Raagas said.
Despite this, Raagas said every City Hall department assigned to the “Klarex Serbisyo Sa Baryo’ should be obligated to clean their assigned areas before leaving the barangay.
“So that we don’t inconvenience our constituents. Since we also use their facilities and even if it’s a weekend, (we should be responsible for cleaning up our assigned areas to avoid complaints from them),” Raagas said.

City Hall held its 11th and last ‘Klarex Nga Serbisyo Sa Baryo’ program for 2022 in Barangay Gusa. Among the services rendered include the mass officiating of 115 couples under the Uy administration’s ‘Kasalan Ng Bayan’ program.
Raagas also confirmed that their office will finalize the 2023 ‘Klarex Nga Serbisyo’ schedule and submit it to Mayor Uy for approval before the year ends.
“(Most likely) we will return to the city’s hinterland (mountain) barangays since there are a lot of upland barangays in District 1 (that have yet to be serviced). So we advise our department managers and their respective personnel to keep updated on these schedules so they can prepare their services to our constituents in advance,” Raagas told the City Hall bureaucracy in Visayan.
