TWO persons in Bukidnon were arrested in connection with the anti-human trafficking law charge yesterday afternoon.
Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, Bukidnon Provincial Police Director, identified the suspects as Ronel Montemayor, 20, single, a resident of Purok 4, Barangay Kahaponan, and Jico Ma. Jose Zamora, 31, single, and a resident of Purok 11, Barangay Poblacion, both of Valencia City of the said province.
Judge Ma. Theresa Aban-Camannong, of the Regional Trial Court-Branch 9, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, dated January 12, 2022, recommended the suspects no bail bond.
Arresting officers assigned at Valencia City police station who were armed with a warrant of arrest issued by the said judge nabbed the suspects at the
Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) compound located at Purok 4, Barangay Pinatilan of the said City at 2:55 pm.
It was learned that the law under Republic Act 9208 said, any person found guilty of the act shall be penalized with imprisonment of 20 years and a fine of not less than P1 million but not more than P2 million.
The two accused are now under BJMP, Valencia City.
