FOR stealing a petroleum gas tank, a 42-year-old truck driver is now languishing in jail in Cagayan de Oro City, Wednesday, this week.
Police Major Jerson Estanilla, police station 7 commander, identified the suspect as Jarry Carreon, 42, married, and a resident of Tambakan Purok 8A, Iligan City.
The suspect is a company driver of a construction firm located at Barangay Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro, and owned by Nikko Ong of Merila Ubaldo Laya, Iligan City.
In an interview with Ong by a police investigator, he said, he and other workers had caught Carreon while in the act of siphoning the diesel product from the truck's gasoline tank at 9 am.
“Mao tong amo siya diretso gikabtan ug nanawag mi’g polis,” Ong said.
The complainant said that prior to the said arrest, he already received reports regarding the unscrupulous act thus, an entrapment was made.
The suspect, who will be facing a case of qualified theft, was temporarily detained at Bulua police custodial facility.
